In this prefabricated house, regional architectural elements join with
the very latest technology to create an Energy Plus house with Alpine
charm. A photovoltaic system generates solar current which is absorbed
by the "Knut" energy storage system and made available to the occupants
as and when it is needed. The smart system also ensures that the surplus
energy is used to electrically heat the water in the buffer tank to
provide hot water and underfloor heating. The remainder is transferred
to the public grid and credited via a reverse tariff scheme.
